Web Accessibility Resources

Web accessibility is improving, but there are issues that we all face in using screen reading and screen enlargement technologies. Knowing resources for guidelines and how to report web accessibility issues is key to all of us being able, one site at a time, to make the internet or web more accessible. The idea is not to sue, or get angry, but to inform the uninformed. Then, if changes are not made, different approaches may be necessary. To just say, "This site is terrible, I cannot do anything!" does not give any valuable information. There are guidelines covering what make a web site accessible, a set of strategies for evaluating a web site, and even a form that can be filled out to send to a national organization which over sees accessibility of web pages. Before you fill out a form, ask yourself, "Did I use web exploration key commands and give this site a fair chance, or did I stop at the first inaccessible item?" If you go to one of the following links, remember to Alt left arrow or Backspace to get back to this page. After the following resources there is a link titled "BACK" at the bottom of this page which will take you to the "Internet Lessons" page.
